Maryland Market Money at the Druid Hill Farmers Market is a local grant and donation supported program managed by the Friends of Druid Hill Park in collaboration with Maryland Farmers Market Association.

The goal of the Maryland Market Money program is to encourage area food access recipients to take advantage of locally-grown fruits and vegetables and to provide additional fresh, nutritious food for their families. By promoting wholesome food choices, the program encourages individuals and families to adopt positive, sustainable diet-related behaviors. That is real nutrition and it makes a real impact.

In 2016, Maryland Market Money eligible shoppers at the Druid Hill Farmers Market had their SNAP benefits matched up to $5 per week and WIC, FMNP or SFMNP benefits up to $5 per week.

Your generous support is an investment in our community.

We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. We also have #GivingTuesday, a day dedicated to giving back.

This #GivingTuesday, the Friends of Druid Hill Park's #GivingTuesday campaign is focused on supporting the 2017 Druid Hill Farmers Market's Maryland Market Money Program.

Maryland Market Money doubles the value of dollar benefits for eligible Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), the Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) and Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) recipients (all commonly known as food stamps) when shopping at the Druid Hill Farmers’ Market.

The Friends of Druid Hill Park is a "grass roots" community group founded in 2009.  We work in partnership with the Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks  in the promotion, preservation, and maintenance of Druid Hill Park.  Our mission  is to protect and maintain the park's magnificent woods and arbors, to preserve it's historic monuments and buildings, and to reinvigorate the park as central recreational, cultural, and educational institution.
